finally got mine painted today, love the look. the modified airbox gives a bit more growl sound too :)
fit/finish are extremely good for a 'glass part, the only minor issues are it rubs a little on the drivers side windshield/cowl plastic, and the very top corners at the top of the bumper(under the lip/cant see it anyway).
I got the blockoff plate and bolted the shaker to the hood- had to do a little fabricating to do it(rubber seal/metal backing plate/molded some standoffs onto the blockoff plate/cut down a couple of the scoop bosses to adjust the height from the blockoff), but its still functional and leaves room for a blower someday :)
I still need to figure out a set of struts that will hold the hood+scoop weight- standard ones *might* work but I think its going to be a little bit heavy.
only real finishing work(very little) was radiusing the underside of the lip/sides as they are a little square as delivered, and a few tiny spots along edges were filled(no bigger than a comma on your keyboard) to smooth out. nicest piece of fiberglass Ive ever bought. steel inserts at the hinges/latch of course, no shake on the highway, or at 100 mph at the dragstrip either (drove it in primer the last year).
My original Aluminum hood had the front corrosion issue- with the only similar looking hood being the aluminum Foose ver$ion, I think the aeroform hood although slightly heavier should hold up better - for less money too. Even in primer, got a lot of 'nice Mustang' comments with the hood...I first saw this hood on Shawn's(from Fang) mustang at a columbus swap meet in 2006, instantly fell in love with the look.
I went with the kinda 70-ish stripe, black on Vista blue- theres a picture here:
